FEATURES & BENEFITS
Trolley Boats
design
features make it a world-class vehicle
– the fastest, safest, quietest,
amphibious tour vehicle ever
designed.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TROLLEY BOAT AND A WWII DUK?
In manufacturing, the Trolley Boat starts off as
a boat, not a vehicle. All other manufacturers, including the
World War II DUK and DUKW boats are trucks made to float.
Which would you rather be on? A boat, or a truck made to
float? The Trolley Boats single diesel engine, transmission,
all gear cases are all inside the water tight hull. All other
manufacturers use a truck body and build a boat around it.
This leaves many parts that weren't designed to be in water
completely submerged every tour. The Trolley Boats axles are
current military grade and are designed for extreme operations
including being completely submerged in salt water, yes, salt
water. The new Trolley Boats, and even our re-furbished
Trolleys all are updated to the newest design and safety equipment
available. ALL parts, and when I say ALL, I mean it, they are
available at your local heavy truck store (Fleet Pride, NAPA) or
from Trolley Boats direct. ALL axle parts are always in stock
at Trolley Boats in Largo,
Florida.
Remember, the Trolley Boat is a NEW design, NOT
a re-design of an old DUK. It's the safest, newest, fun to
drive, fun to ride on and very safe for both the passenger and the
pedestrian walking on the
sidewalk/street.
New Safety
Additions:
The new Trolley Boats have the latest in high tech safety features. The Trolley Boats "Auto Brake" technology is exclusive to the Trolley Boat and will automatically stop or slow the vehicle (depending on speed) if a pedestrian steps out in front of the vehicle. This system also works for cars and trucks that may pass in front of the vehicle unexpectedly. Pedestrian safety is of main concern due to the fact that these boats operate in tight locations and parking lots.
All new Trolley Boats come standard with Auto
Brake, complete camera system with proximity warning system, and
backup alarm. These systems will make the Trolley Boat the
safest amphibious vehicle on the market in the United
States.
Superior Construction:
Composite Fiberglass
construction provides advantages over metal construction -
including consistent body construction. Fiberglass
construction gives you years of maintenance free use, no corrosion
issues and survives impacts far greater than aluminum and is easily
repaired. Expected life of a Trolley Boat hull is 50 years
plus, yes, fifty years!
Superior Performance:
Functional bodylines
designed for superior water performance. Air-ride suspension
provides a comfortable ride even at highway
speeds.
Exceptional Strength:
Designed for maximum strength to weight ratio.
Attractive:
Specifically designed to have the appropriate
personality, attractiveness and appeal for the amphibious tour-ride
industry.
Exceptionally Quiet:
Quiet operation allows for normal conversation levels. New
addition for the current models of an electric drive system for
water propulsion. This makes the Trolley Boat quiet and
extremely comfortable to ride in the water. All other
vehicles are very noisy while in the water. With the electric
drive all you hear on a Trolley Boat is the rushing water out the
jet drive!!!
Short Construction Time:
Due to fiberglass construction and systems design.
Superior Ability:
USCG approved to operate in
partially protected waters and in up to six-foot seas (twice that
approved
for any other amphibious tour vehicle).
Certified and Warranted:
The only amphibious vehicle with all components
certified and warranted by the manufacturers for water operation –
including the axles. Very LOW MAINTENANCE cost complete with
daily, weekly and monthly maintenance procedures that have been
proven to work for many years. New, 10-year limited warranty
on the hull and deck!!!
Superior Road Ride:
Air ride suspension with 22.5 X 315 radial tires for exceptional ride.
EPA accepted, European Approved:
7.7L Volvo Diesel Engine meets or exceeds new
emission standards both in the United Stated and abroad. RINA
Certified for export to all European and foreign
Countries.
Virtually Unsinkable:
A watertight crash bulkhead in the bow, in combination with added floatation, makes the Trolley Boat virtually unsinkable.
COMPARE All Current Amphibious Vehicles:
The DUWK:
60 yrs. old; thin steel;
slow; limited operation; approx. 30 passenger
limit.
The LARK:
40 yrs. old;
aluminum; 10’ wide (limited land use); slow land
speed; approx. 30 passenger limit.
The Alvis Stalwart:
30 yrs. Old; steel; slow
and limited marine operation; Limited passenger
count.
Other Amphibious Vehicles:
Truck chassis and axles, modified to float; slow
and limited to 3’ seas;
Attractive? - judge its appearance for
yourself.
RECONDITIONED MILITARY VEHICLE DISADVANTAGES:
1. Expensive to operate due
to high maintenance and repairs.
2. Requires back-up vehicles due to down time.
3. Expensive, hard to find parts.
4. High fuel consumption due to aged drive train.
5. High insurance cost resulting from non-conforming design and
age.

operation
2. Low maintenance and repairs which are covered by factory
warranties and optional service agreements
3. Low fuel consumption due to the modern diesel and hydrostatic
drive train.
